Here is my introduction to acn-l:

I've lived my life in California, except for the 4 years I went to
the University of Pennsylvania. I got a computer science degree there.
Since then I've worked for several small high tech companies.

My best friend got a fish tank when we were kids. This meant that I had
to get one. I was allowed to buy a
five gallon tank with 3 goldfish, one of which died soon after. As a
kid I maxed out at 3 tanks (tropical community, goldfish, and betas).
I never bred anything except guppies. During high school my interest
in fish declined.

After university, I slid back into fish. Right now I have a tank at work
and a small fish room (about 12 tanks) at home. I'm specializing in
livebearers, because I can tell the males from the females, and because
there are less than 200 of them.

My interests in fish are conserving livebearers via captive breeding,
inbreeding vs. outbreeding in captive breeding programs, and plant based
filtering for aquariums.

I'm a member of the American Livebearers Association, the San Francisco
Aquarium Association, and the Aquadic Conservation Network.
