In The Dawn of the Third Age Mike Adams <mfadam1 at pop.uky.edu> woke me
from my contemplation by writing:

It is a hybrid, so does it really matter what went into it. If you
cross it with parkinsoni you'll just get more garbage. I have heard
from some one who unknowingly obtained this cross, it was represented
as a true species when he imported them from the original source.
Before he found out the truth, he had spawned and passed them around
to numerous Florida fish farms. So its probably in the American hobby
to stay :-(
