Roy is quite right when he says that mops don't seem to exhibit this problem and
eggs that I pick and place in hatching trays do not go this way either (these
are invariably Blue-eye eggs since I just let Melanotaenias hatch in the tank
where they where laid.), this is why I think the problem lies in the shipping/
packaging stage. However I have never tried his "bong" water technique;-) That
Roy is such an innovator!! we are so lucky to have him in our midst. I wonder if
he'd send me all the paraphernalia needed to make my own bong water?!;-)
I thought that differing water qualities from place of origin to place of
destination may be to blame but, Gary's water is very different from mine. I
think this is more of a concern for fish. As well eggs I've received from Ron
Bowman were fine. This may just be co-incidental.
