Hi Dianne

I'm not too sure how to help you on the roundworm thing, but I can give
some "advice" re the used tank thing. :-)

Yes. It is OK to use a tank that previously housed marine fish/inverts.
That would actually be a better choice, as marine setups tend to use the
best quality equipment compared to the "average" FW setup. The only thing
you MIGHT need to change out would be the substrate. I say might, because
if you have very soft, low-pH water, you would be best to leave it in
there, rinsing it VERY well of course, because it will help buffer your
tank water. Marine setups usually use a dolomite, or even better, coral or
shell-based substrate for just this reason.

As for size, if you just wanted a colony of wanams, then a 3 foot tank
would be fine. It is always better to get the largest tank you can
afford/have room for, but a 30 gal would work. I understand why you're "in
love" w/them, as they are a beautiful fish. :-) The Glossolepis genus of
'bows are my favs!

Good luck on your new set up. :-)
