I was wondering what people thought of using paramecia as a first food for
rainbow fry (I have parkinsonis). I have heard people say that they are
easier to culture than rotifers. Are they a good substitute?

Rotifer culturing plans:
I have some greenwater food on order (from Florida aquatic farms; supposedly
all you need to feed greenwater), as well as some rotifer cysts. I'm about
to make a dedicated DIY hood with 3 or 4 of the 48 inch 32 watt flourescents
so that I always have a greenwater culture going for the rotifers. I've
never tried keeping a rotifer culture going long-term, but I'm hoping that
seeding gallon containers of greenwater with rotifers, and rotating and
staggering them, will work.
