Jennifer,

The rhads I have caught generally are in peak condition when sampled from slow or no flow, acid conditions. Indeed we have scooped them out of shallow puddles on the margins of a track and they have been healthy fish. I wonder if the higher than normal water levels, increased flow (turbulence?) and maybe less acid conditions than normal (you would need to seasonally check the river) has caused stressing, or less food than normal in/for these fish?
