Never tried this species before, but I am conjecturing that it is
similar to M. bosmani. Might want to consider temperature fluctuations, pH
fluctuations, etc. A 2.5 gal tank might be a bit on the small side for
these guys depending on density in terms of preventing fluctuations in
water parameters (I used a 10 for bosmani, but then there seemed to be
thousands of them). APR would probablly be the best first food for a week
or two. Then go to the micro worms, vinegar eels, and later BBS.
Greenwater might work as well. I have been noticing that my fish
(Pseudomugil furcatas) outside in green water are developing really intense
yellow and reds. I suspect that the micro algae might provide more of the
necessary nutrition that plain BBS, etc might be lacking....
