G'day Dan,

Before APR became available many hobbyists used simple hard-boiled egg yolk
infusion as a starter food. There also used to be a liquid fry food called
"Liquifry" available.

You just hard boil an egg remove the yolk, wrap it in a piece of cloth and
shake it in water to make a cloudy suspension which you could add some
spirulina pdr to. Then add this to your fry several times a day or drip it
into the net slowly with a syphon of fine plastic tubing. An airstone in
the infusion keeps it suspended. Make sure you leave enough space in the
main tank that there is no overflow if you are not going to be there to
supervise.

Cheers

Bruce
