In The Dawn of the Third Age "Gary Lange" <gwlange at stlnet.com> woke me
from my contemplation by writing:

I haven't seen any crosses yet either but the quality can leave allot
to be desired. Poor color and deformed bodies seems to be quite the
norm with many of the blue-eyes I've seen in stores. Although this
isn't always the case, it is still buyer beware.
I did find some rather nice looking P. tenellus in a pet store in
Milwaukee. They were rather small but have grown into some spectacular
looking fish. Locally in Minnesota your best shot at blue-eyes is
World of Fish (know to local aquarist's as World of MARK-UP). Expect
to pay $20 each for 1/2 to 3/4 inch gertrudae or furcatus.

Oh come on now Gary, even you know spring usually shows up by June in
Minnesota, or it doesn't show up at all :-)
Actually mid April is generally a safe time for us, but you do have to
keep an eye on the weather forecast.
