[RML] Female Rainbow longevity

I have notice (so far) that there are very few (none) large female
rainbowfish. Specifically, M. bosmani. Is this a result of the females
having a shorter lifespan (because most of there energy is put into making
eggs). Or that they just don't sell? My adult females seem to be worn out
and haggard most of the time. Is this normal. I have even had one die on
me that I have put out as "old age". The males are the same age yet they
show no signs of slowing down.

Any ideas on this matter would be apreciated.
