They reported in from Weipa this morning with some of their trips highlights so far:
(John) - Peter and Roy argued the whole bloody way. I made Peter sit in the Ute Tray.
(Peter and Roy) - Looked in nearly every creek from Rockhampton to Cairns. Seen some amazing fish and places (Running River splendidas, Townsville Blue-eyes, Murray Swamps ,maccullochi, etc etc),
(John and Roy) - Had a beer,
(Roy) - Reached the holy grail (the very tip of the Cape), had a photo taken and bought a T-shirt, and had a beer.
(Roy and John) - Had another beer,
(John) - Collected some maccullochi from near Bamaga, Wow.
(John and Roy) - Had a beer
(Peter) - Caught thousands of fish and pickled or frozen hundreds of samples.
(Roy and John) - Had a beer, (Peter) Had a suck of ketchup.
(All) - Could not find Tentpole Creek. (Roy and John) Had two beers and then found it.
(Roy and John) - Run out of beer.
Of interest to me was the Comment from Roy that "he and John are heading to Cape Tribulation to sample some backpacker delights". Looks like Roy has achieved his second mission - to abandon Peter in the bush somewhere.
I expect to meet them with or without Peter at Longreach this week.
