heres my next question...i am setting up a tank outside and thought i would
solicit the folks who have done this for a little advice. my concern is
that the fish will jump out. the primary reason i'm setting this tank up
outside is so i can provide the fish with an insect diet and see if their
appearance/health/growth rate improves any over their counterparts kept
inside. in order for the insects to be able to fall in the water, i don't
want a glass top. but, if there's no glass top, they might jump out. i
have some egg crate but i have had jawfish find their way out through the
holes in the past. my next thought was to build a wall that extends above
the tank in the same planes as the glass sides so if the fish decide to
make a break for it, they'll hit the side and fall back in. that begs the
nest question: how high can rainbows jump? how do you folks that keep
outdoor tanks keep those critters in the tank? i'm open to any ideas.
