Hi Dianne,
at first you should proof your feeding. Camallanus is transmitted
only by food. Mosquito larvae are possible transmitters.
Ivermectin works really fine against the worm, but unfortunately also
against
the fish.I warn against using Ivermectin in fish tanks. It is high
toxic for fish. And last not least it leaves residues in the nature
behind.
Karsten wrote "Concurat" works very well, I can confirm this. The
active substance is Levamisol, belonging to the group of
Imidazothiazole.
Best choice in the struggle against Camallanus are the Organic
phosphoric acid esters.
I have got best experiences with Trichlorfon. The concentration in your
tank should be 0,04 - 0,05 g per 100 liters for 5 days. Every following
day
you have to renew half of the water. Every coming day you should give
the same dose to the water.
Repeate this procedure after some weeks.
