All this "shark" stuff is very interesting but getting back to the original
thread of FW morays took me to Gerald Allen's "Freshwater Fishes of New
Guinea" and the species Gyymnothorax polyuranodon which grows to 80cm and
although regularly found in FW is rarely more than 20-30 km from the sea. It
has been reported from Indonesia, New Guinea, Fiji and Australia (Cape York
Peninsula).
