not about apple snails, but on the subject of quarantine breaches -

i have lived much of my time in the tropics (darwin and png) and, living
here in subtropical brisbane i really miss the little barking geckoes that
i am accustomed to sharing my house with. recently a friend told me that
his house, here in brisbane, is full of barkng geckoes. it didn't used to
be, in fact their arrival in the house followed a holiday in bali. my
friend is convinced that she inadvertantly brought a gravid female home in
her luggage.

incidentally i used to work for png quarantine, and can tell many stories
of intentional quarantine breaches - especially involving fish!
