Live food is always good, especially if you can offer a variety. Home-made
frozen food is good too as you can mix up a variety of proteins and
vegetable matter.

I have experience of using chopped earthworms and it worked well. I also
have a culture of Dwarf African red Worms that are a small form of earth
worm that only grows about 2" ( some are a bit bigger) and these are eaten
whole by adult rainbows.
