Without quoting all the others that have gone before let me
cast my vote with John Dowden.
Peter Hughes also referred to the Peter/Julie shellacking.
Let me say right now that as one of those who has
participated in the shellacking, I know both of those folks
personally and they both give as good if not better than
they get and Peter has personally told me that all is in
good fun! USE the GRINNY things(:-) ),they help others who
can't see your face, to know when you're kidding.
I think of the other folks on this list as friends or
potential friends. I endeavor to treat my mailings with that
in mind.This hobby is FUN!
There are some other things I'd like to mention while on
this topic.Firstly I'd personally appreciate it if people (
that means the mostly white folks who are on this list), to
please THINK before using some of those racial terms that,
to us once seemed harmless. A little more awareness would be
appreciated.I can hear all the groans!;-)
Sermon over.
And secondly, while this next problem does not really bother
me, I do find that it wastes a bit of time. I often get mail
via the list that really would have been better off going di
rectly to a private address.
There is one other thing that deserves mentioning:
Occasionally a posting will draw a heated reply. The folks
involved will then use the list to vent their feelings.
Personally I don't care to read that sort of thing. If you
have a problem with someone's reply to your post, then take
it up with them privately.
