Spam List

G'Day all...
I've recieved a bit of mail, and a few verbal comments, about
non-fishy posts on the list. I saw a Mailing List I was particularly
interested in tear itself to shreds over just this issue about a year
ago - so I have the folowing solution in mind, and am open to
comments.
This other list, after it reincarnated on another server, solved the
problem by creating a "Spam List", where all the "Gee, guys, I've had
a bad day", jokes, funny comments etc. ended up. This is a "manual"
mailing list, where everybody on the list sends mail to everybody
else's email addresses...
This way, we are running two lists. One is for the strictly
"important" stuff, the other is for the community feeling that joking
around engenders, without anybody whinging at me and Alan F.
The "manual" business may not suit some, but I can't see myself or
Alan asking the PCUG/AUUG guys for another ML for "RainbowSpam" - all
it entails is setting up an alias in your mailing software, and
cut'n'pasting the address block into it once we have it set up. For
those of you using PINE, it's simply a matter of chosing "reply-to
all".
I'm leaving work shortly and shan't be back for four glorious days ;)
