To whom it may be of interest...

I am not sure whether we would be of interest to any of you but I'd like to
open the offer of conversing with us through eMail directly, this list or
otherwise.

I'm Victor Elderton, the principal at NV Outdoor School established in 1969.
I think we way provide an interesting perspective to discussions. We are a
residential field school for 5500 school children each year. About 100 000
since 1969. We have our own salmon hatchery for steelhead, coho, chum and
chinook salmon. We also have 2.3 kms. of naturalized spawning channel on the
school property (420 acres). Fish from the Cheakamus/Squamish River system
spawn here. This year an estimated 20 000 to 30 000 salmon spawned on the
school grounds. We are also in the centre of the largest counted winter
congregation of wintering bald eagles in NA. 3769 birds were counted here in
January 1994. We often host researchers here and have facilitated a number of
projects as well as conferences at our site. Right now we have students here
from Holland, (2) from Oberlin College in Ohio, two senior researhers
studying eagles and a student from a local Vancouver community college. I
think our students and staff would find your news and/or questions
potentially interesting.
